Weekly Talking Point

Week 1: Respect

Theme: Respect is a Daily Practice
“This week, we’re focusing on the small behaviors that shape a respectful team. Respect isn’t just about policies—it’s in how we pause before reacting, how we speak to one another, and how we show we’re listening. Let’s all commit to one civility habit this week.”

Reflection Question: How do you know when someone feels heard on your team?

Week 2: Repair & Accountability

Talking Point: “This week, we’re focusing on what it means to repair trust when something goes wrong. In any team, missteps and misunderstandings happen—but what matters most is how we respond. Accountability isn’t about blame—it’s about owning impact and choosing growth.”

Reflection Question: When is the last time someone’s apology made a real difference to you at work?
Mini Action: Try this civility habit: Acknowledge harm when it happens. Repair before you move forward.

Week 3: Voice & Inclusion

Talking Point: “Respect shows up in how we create space for every voice. This week, we’re exploring how inclusion and civility work together. Making people feel seen, heard, and safe to contribute is one of the most powerful forms of leadership.”

✅ Reflection Question: What’s one way we can make sure quieter voices are heard during meetings or decisions?
Mini Action: Use names when inviting people into discussions. Pause, then ask: ‘What do you think, [Name]?’

Week 4: Leadership Reflection

Talking Point: “As we close out National Civility Month, this week is about leadership. Not just by title—but by behavior. Whether you manage people or not, how you show up shapes your team. Civility is a form of leadership we all have access to.”

Reflection Question: What’s one civility habit you’re taking with you beyond this month?
Mini Action: Fill out your Leadership Behavior Scorecard or share a quick story about civility in action with your team.
