President Obama designated Jan. 19, 2013 as a National Day of Service and Remembrance. Laurie Artis, President and CEO, joined Ginger Miller, founder and CEO of Women Veterans Interactive (WVI) a nonprofit organization whose mission is to support women veterans through advocacy, empowerment, interaction, outreach, and unification in honoring Dr. King’s vision of gathering in unity.
The President and CEO along with other WVI partners participated in “Unite America in Service” a signature MLK Day national service project where appreciation was shown for those who serve our country by packing 100,000 care kits filled with necessities for our service members, wounded warriors, veterans, and first responders.
