Black Veteran Woman-Owned Firm Expands Strategic Alliance with Global Expert Firm for Disability Employment
Civility Management Solutions and Springboard Provide Leadership Training for Veterans
Greenbelt, MD — Black Veteran woman-owned professional and technical services consulting firm, Civility Management Solutions (CivilityMS) is expanding its current strategic alliance with woman-owned professional services consulting firm, Springboard Global Enterprises (Springboard) to expand leadership training for Veterans, with and without disabilities, inside Fortune 500 companies and government agencies
According to a report, only about a third of veterans who report both a Census Bureau’s American Community Survey disability (ACS) (a difficulty with one or more of the following: hearing, vision, cognitive, ambulatory, self-care, and independent living) and Service-connected (SC) disability (32%) and only 37% of those reporting only an ACS disability are employed, compared with over three-quarters of veterans without disabilities. As a comparison, the overall employment rate of the civilian population is around 71%. Under this expanded working relationship, CivilityMS will provide Springboard with professional development and hiring support, including in the areas of hiring, and retaining Veteran talent, establishing, and maintaining Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), Veteran employee engagement programs (i.e. Veteran and Military Holiday programming), and Human Resource Veteran recruitment. Additionally, this expansion allows Springboard to provide CivilityMS with all aspects of support and guidance relative to the unique cross-functional issues employers must address when employing individuals with disabilities of any type, inclusive of disabled veterans.
“Nurturing the talent of Veterans with service-connected disabilities is extremely important,” says President and CEO of CivilityMS Laurie Sayles. “Working with the team at Springboard allows us to work with people that understand the skillsets, as well as the types of disabilities and how they do and do not impact.”
A desire to employ individuals with disabilities including service-disabled veterans requires knowledge of the issues and related best practices and protocols that will ensure success. When it comes to successful Veteran employment, Nadine Vogel, CEO of Springboard Global Enterprises says, “I can think of no firm with more expertise than CivilityMS.”
Research indicates that veterans perform as well as or better than others in the workplace. Given the wealth of advanced training and leadership development the military provides, the resources and experiences in active military status bring employers a unique experience. This expansion will further extend CivilityMS’ reach into the commercial space as we seek to create Veteran-friendly hiring processes and workplaces, which is beneficial for the strength of the economy and the global workforce.
For companies interested in hiring employees with a built-in set of education and job preparation benefits, increasing their focus on diversity and inclusion, and retaining the veteran status employees currently on staff, you can learn more by contacting the CivilityMS team at SupportVeterans@CivilityMS.com.
